The Ecumenical Jury in Leipzig 2010 awarded the Polish documentary film "Na pólnoc od Kalabrii" (North from Calabria, 2010) by Marcin Sauter. The Golden Dove for the best documentary film in the international competition went to "Vodka Factory" by Jerzey Sladkowski.

"Looking for Eric" won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury in Cannes 2009. The Golden Palm was awarded to Michael Haneke's "Das weiße Band" which received a Commendation by the Ecumenical Jury as well.

Current issues

At the 57th film festival Visions du Réel in Nyon the Interreligious Jury has awarded its Prize to the documentary "Dentro" by Elsa Amiel.
Following the promising nominations, the Oscar ceremony felt like a disappointment. For the first time, the Academy had nominated international films such as “Sentimental Value” from Norway and “Secret Agent” from Brazil in the Best Picture category. Yet in the end, it was American productions that walked away with all the awards.
