Dietmar Adler (*1961) studied theology in Münster and Tübingen and became Pastor at the Lutheran Church of Bad Münder (Lower Saxony, Germany). He is founder and speaker of the study group “Church and Film” in the Lutheran Church of Hannover, and writes lectures and articles about religious motives in films. He is co-editor and author of the book "Mit Bildern bewegen" about church film services. Since 2019 he serves as jury coordinator for INTERFILM.

Current issues

‘Northern Outskirts' (Nordrand) by Barbara Albert was the winner of the 4th European John Templeton Film Award for the year 2000. The film tells the story of two young women in Vienna who lost touch after leaving school and meet again at an abortion clinic.
INTERFILM member Hans-Martin Gutmann traces a narrative arc from his departure for the KVIFF 2026, through his work on the festival’s Ecumenical Jury and its decision on the winner, right up to his return.
