Marie Starck (*1963 ) studied journalism, theology, English, German and musicology. She is the Councilor for Cultural Affairs of the Church of Sweden, including cooperation with the Bergman Week, BUFF film festival Malmö, Gothenburg Bookfair and Stockholms bokhelg (literature festival). She also worked 27 years as a cultural journalist, producer and moderator in film, literature, theatre, music and art for newspapers, cultural magazines and theatres.

Following the promising nominations, the Oscar ceremony felt like a disappointment. For the first time, the Academy had nominated international films such as “Sentimental Value” from Norway and “Secret Agent” from Brazil in the Best Picture category.
