Prof. Dr. Joachim Valentin studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the University of Freiburg. 1996 doctorate, 2004 habilitation with a thesis on apocalyptic motifs in feature films. Since 2005 director of the Catholic cultural centre Haus am Dom, Frankfurt a.M., Prof. for Christian Theory of Religion and Culture at the Goethe University Frankfurt. He is co-editor of the series "ReligionFilmMedia", member of the Catholic Film Commission, advisor to the Publication Commission of the German Bishops' Conference and Vice chairperson of the Council of Religions in Frankfurt.
