The Ecumenical Jury at the 25th Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) 2026 awarded its prize, worth €1,000, to “Truly Naked” by Muriel d’Ansembourg (Netherlands, Belgium, France 2026). It is the director’s first feature film. The festival’s main prize, the Transilvania Trophy, was won by “Lionel” (Spain, France 2026) by Carlos Saiz. The FIPRESCI Jury, whose prize is awarded to a film from the Romanian Days section, honoured “Don’t Let Me Die” (Nu mă lăsa să mor, Romania, Bulgaria, France 2026) by Andrei Epure. The Italian actress Ornella Muti received the Honorary Award at this anniversary edition of the festival.
For the first time, SIGNIS Romania organised a training programme for young SIGNIS and INTERFILM members during the festival, aimed at preparing them for future membership of ecumenical juries; the programme was named the “Guido Convents Training Programme” after the historian, anthropologist and former coordinator of the SIGNIS Cinema Desk. At the close of the festival, the six participants in the programme awarded a prize to a film from the Romanian short film programme, “Margini” (Edges) by Roberta Șerban.
TIFF.25 opened with a film by the director and festival director, Tudor Giurgiu: “3 Days in September” (3 zile în septembrie, Romania, 2026). The Ecumenical Jury awards thier prize to a film from the international competition.
