With an international ecumenical jury and a reception the churches again participate in the 67th International Film Festival in Berlin, which will take place from 9 to 19 February 2017. The jury, appointed by the international church organisations INTERFILM and SIGNIS, presents itself at the traditional ecumenical reception on the occasion of the Berlinale on February 12, 2017, 6.00 pm at the Catholic Academy in Berlin. Welcoming speeches by Bishop Dr. Gebhard Fürst, Chairman of the Publish Commission of the German Bishops' Conference, and Pastor Dr. Johann Hinrich Claussen, Commissioner for Culture of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany, will open the event. Keynote speaker is Amir Esfandiari, Head of International Affairs at the Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran, where an interreligious jury with the participation of SIGNIS has been established since 2008.
