Piero Loredan, an Italian Jesuit scholar, joined the society of Jesus in 2016 at the age of 31. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Management Of Arts, Culture And Entertainment, at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan where he studied History and Criticism of Cinema. After the Master's Degree in Business Communication, he worked in the world of communication in Italy and abroad (Spain, Australia, South Africa). His passion for cinema led him to participate in several festivals including the festivals in Verona (Italy) and Durban (South Africa). Piero was able to deepen his passion for cinema, also as a Jesuit: he had the chance to write about cinema on Civiltà Cattolica – published by the Jesuits in Rome – and the Osservatore Romano.

Following the promising nominations, the Oscar ceremony felt like a disappointment. For the first time, the Academy had nominated international films such as “Sentimental Value” from Norway and “Secret Agent” from Brazil in the Best Picture category.
