Jean-Paul Käser studied theology at the University of Neuchâtel and graduated with a licentiate in 1991. He first worked in public social work, then returned to his passion for everything connected with old and new languages, and passed the German state examination as a translator in 1998. Since then he has worked as a freelance translator from French, as editor and proofreader. He is a long-standing member of the Biel institutions Filmgilde and Filmpodium, spends a considerable amount of his free time in the cinema seat and is occasionally involved in the Reformed parish of Biel.
