Innocent Iroaganachi is a media practitioner with 5+ years of experience in academic and non-academic writings, co-producing print and audio-visual contents, and serving as a juror of international film projects. MA study in media with focus on film representations. B.A. in Communication Studies and M.A. in Pastoral Communication. University education in Nigeria, Kenya, Burkina Faso and Ireland. Member and regular contributor of the Young Peace Journalists of Pax Christi International (PCI) and writer for Asante Africa Foundation (AFF).

Current issues

Following the promising nominations, the Oscar ceremony felt like a disappointment. For the first time, the Academy had nominated international films such as “Sentimental Value” from Norway and “Secret Agent” from Brazil in the Best Picture category. Yet in the end, it was American productions that walked away with all the awards.
Film director Selma Vilhunen has won the Church Media Foundation’s 2026 prize for her documentary film 'Gate to Paradise' (Portti Paratiisiin).
