Gergely Hajnal (*1976) graduated in aesthetics, education, communication and media studies. He started his career by making short fiction films. Later he moved on to documentaries, many of which won a number of various awards. He worked 10 years for the Hungarian Province of the Society of Jesus, organizing media workshops, film clubs, international film festivals. He participated in establishing Szőts István Film Workshop where he produced and directed several films. He writes film reviews and chairs film "clubs. He just finished a documentary feature: "Rescuer". He currently works for the Hungarian public television as senior program manager of the film department.

Current issues

An interreligious jury has chosen the film "Orphan" by László Nemes as winner of the Interfaith Award at the Hungarian Film Week 2026.
