Thomas Carrique(*1992) belongs to the Dominican Order (Preachers) since 2019. He came to Fribourg two years ago to achieve his theological studies and now lives in the Dominican convent of Geneva, where he serves as a deacon. He studied theatre, literature, and philosophy, and before joining the order, he worked as a French and literature teacher. He was a member of the Braunschweig Film Festival’s Youth Jury in 2010. He also took part in the Avignon Theatre Festival in 2024 and 2025 as a Dominican friar, where he organized the “Foi et Culture” meetings with contemporary theatre artists. He believes that cinema engages deeply with faith by making the invisible visible and by speaking directly to the soul. He has already developed a strong appreciation for FIFF, which he discovered last year.
