A graduate of Pázmány University and Edinburgh College of Art, Balász Szövényi-Lux has served on juries at children's film festivals and the BUSHO festival in Budapest. He has long written reviews for Kortárs Online and volunteered with the Taizé community. His award-winning films include the shorts Tent (2017), Catapult (2019), and his feature debut The First Two (2023).

Current issues

At the 57th film festival Visions du Réel in Nyon the Interreligious Jury has awarded its Prize to the documentary "Dentro" by Elsa Amiel.
Jacqueline Jansen’s ‘Sechswochenamt’ won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the achtung berlin 2026 film festival. The jury awarded a Special Mention to Katrin Sikora’s documentary ‘Schwarze Häuser’.
