Achim Forst (*1955), arts, film, and music publicist, studied German literature, journalism, and musicology at the Free University in Berlin and was freelance author for print and radio. He worked for film festivals (Mannheim - selection committee -, Berlinale, and the Munich Film Festival). For 30 years he was editor of the 3sat film department in the public TV station ZDF. He is author/director of TV documentaries for 3sat, including films about cinema in Russia, Australia, and Romania (co-author), and films about Lars von Trier (3sat + Arte) and Wim Wenders (co-author). He wrote a book about Lars von Trier (Breaking the Dreams) and is the founder and co-editor of the arts website "Ghosts of Liberty" (Gespenster der Freiheit).

"Defiant" by director Visa Koiso-Kanttila wins the Prize of the Church Media Foundation in Finland at the International Chidren's and Youth Festival in Oulu 2025.
The Hof Film Festival is now in its 58th year and has become a hallmark of the city, which is why Hof likes to call itself the “Home of Films,” a phrase that is said to have originated with Wim Wenders. In the late 1960s and 1970s, the Munich film scene came to Hof (...). As a nostalgic reminder, this year there was a 35mm screening of Fassbinder's early work “Gods of the Plague”. Peter Paul Huth reports about the festival.
