Opening film: La bataille de Gaulle: L'âge de fer (Antonin Baudry)
The 22nd CineFest opened with “La bataille de Gaulle: L’âge de fer” (De Gaulle: Résistance) by Antonin Baudry (France, Belgium, USA 2026). The film tells the story of how General Charles de Gaulle, an unknown officer who had fled to London, became a key figure in the French Resistance during the Second World War.
The festival's Lifetime Achievement Award goes to the Hungarian actor Sándor Gáspár, whilst the Award for Ambassador of European Cinema is presented to the Scottish director and producer Kevin MacDonald.
The Ecumenical Jury awards its prize to a film from the international feature film competition.
