The Ecumenical Jury in Warsaw 2025 awarded its Prize to the Polish-Czech co-production ‘Brat’ (Brother) by Maciej Sobieszczański and a Commendation to ‘Nino’ by Pauline from France. ‘Nino’ was also awarded the Grand Prix by the festival jury, which also gave the Prize for Best Director to Dutch filmmaker Mike van Diem for his film ‘Voor de meisjes’ (Our Girls, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium 2025) and the Special Jury Prize to the Polish film ‘Dom dobry’ (Home, Sweet Home, 2025) by Wojtek Smarzowski. The International Film Critics' Prize (Fipresci) also went to ‘Dom dobry’.
The 2025 Warsaw International Film Festival opened on 14 October with Anniversary (Rocznica, Poland 2025) by Jan Komasa, who gained international recognition with Corpus Christi (Poland 2019). The Ecumenical Jury, which has been accompanying the festival since 2010, awards prizes for films in the International Competition, in which a total of 15 entries competed. In other competition sections, the festival showed debut and second films (Competition 1-2), documentaries and short films. In total, the festival programme comprised 112 feature-length films and 56 short films.
