Eva Valvo was born in Denmark in 1976 and raised in Italy in a Danish-Italian family. She studied Classical Philology at the University of Pisa and wrote her PhD thesis on Saxo Grammaticus’ History of Denmark written in Medieval Latin. She is an award-winning literary translator from Danish and Norwegian into Italian: she is specialised in literature for children and YA, but translates anything from crime to graphic novels and literary nonfiction. Among her translations are the original script books of the Norwegian SKAM series (seasons 1-4). She co-ordinates translation events at the Palermo Festival delle Letterature Migranti, where she regularly organises screenings of translation-related movies. As a Visibility Coordinator of the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations, she coordinated two video campaigns in 2022 and 2023.
