Olimpia Melinte (*1986) is a Romanian actress working in theatre and film. She studied acting and holds a Master’s degree in Dramatic Arts from the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iași. She has performed in numerous productions at the Iași National Theatre.

Her first film role, in Cele ce plutesc / The Floating Things (dir. Mircea Daneliuc, 2010), brought her two Gopo Award nominations. She later appeared in Sette opere di misericordia / Seven Acts of Mercy (dir. Massimiliano and Gianluca De Serio, 2011), awarded at international festivals including Locarno, and received an acting award in Bobbio, Italy. Her filmography also includes Killing Time (dir. Florin Piersic Jr., 2012) and Caníbal (dir. Manuel Martín Cuenca, 2013), screened at festivals such as Toronto and San Sebastián. 

Alongside her artistic career, she completed a PhD at the “I.L. Caragiale” National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, with research focused on female representation in TV series, the female gaze and feminist discourse. She has been a member of SIGNIS Romania since 2022 and is Honorary Co-President of FILMIKON International Film Festival, dedicated to films awarded by Ecumenical Juries.
