Rainer Bunz (born 1944) graduated in German, English and American Studies in Munich, Tübingen and Medford, Massachusetts (USA). Initially involved in German-American cultural exchange, he worked as a film consultant at the Gemeinschaftswerk der Evangelischen Publizistik from 1974 to 1979, and as a feature film editor at the First German Television (ARD) from 1980 until his retirement in 2009. Since 2000, he has been publishing historical works, including the biography *Der vergessene Maestro – Frieder Weissmann* (2016).
