Nicola Galliner, born in London in 1950, has lived in Berlin since 1969. From 1988 to 2008 she directed the Jewish Adult Education Centre of the Jewish Community of Berlin. She is the initiator and founder of the Jewish Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg, which she directed for 26 years until 2021. In 2018, she received the Order of Merit of the State of Brandenburg. She is the editor or co-editor of several publications, including „Wegweiser durch das jüdische Berlin“ (1987), the exhibition catalogue „Als wäre es nie gewesen“ (1988), "Öffne deine Hand für die Stummen"(1993), „Im jüdischen Leben“ (1995), „Jewish Film Festival Berlin - Die ersten zehn Jahre“ (2004). „Celebration! 25 Jahre JFBB Jüdisches Filmfestival Berlin & Brandenburg” (2019). She has been a jury member at various film festivals in Germany and Israel.
