Dr. theol. Hermann Kocher (*1955) studied Protestant theology in Bern and Heidelberg. Afterwards he was assistant for church history at the University of Bern. He completed his doctorate with a thesis on Swiss Protestantism and Switzerland's refugee policy 1933-1948. A first pastorate took him to the diaspora parish of Escholzmatt in the canton of Lucerne. For eleven years he headed a centre for the further education of pastors in Switzerland. In the last years of his career before retirement, he worked as a pastor in Langnau in Emmental. Today he works as a freelance supervisor/coach. He is also Vice-President of INTERFILM Switzerland.

The Hof Film Festival is now in its 58th year and has become a hallmark of the city, which is why Hof likes to call itself the “Home of Films,” a phrase that is said to have originated with Wim Wenders. In the late 1960s and 1970s, the Munich film scene came to Hof (...). As a nostalgic reminder, this year there was a 35mm screening of Fassbinder's early work “Gods of the Plague”. Peter Paul Huth reports about the festival.
