Anca Berlogea-Boariu (*1968) is a Romanian theatre and documentary film director, currently serving as a producer at TVR, where she develops cultural documentaries and creative projects. She holds a double PhD in theatre (Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj) and theology (Université de Lorraine, France), and previously earned a master's degree in theology from the Catholic Institute of Paris. Her career began post-communism, encompassing roles such as second assistant director on Lucian Pintilie's "The Oak" (1992), director of the "Making of Callas Forever" (2001), and location manager for Radu Jude’s "Aferim!" (2015). In 2009, she was awarded with the UCIN prize for best documentary for "Letters to my brother in exile". Anca Berlogea-Boariu has also strong focus on cinema and youth engagement, exemplified by projects like "Blajminute" (2019) and the "Facing Children" film festival (2006–2007). She also served in several ecumenical or Signis juries, in Cannes, Hong Kong, Monte Carlo and Venice.

Following the promising nominations, the Oscar ceremony felt like a disappointment. For the first time, the Academy had nominated international films such as “Sentimental Value” from Norway and “Secret Agent” from Brazil in the Best Picture category. Yet in the end, it was American productions that walked away with all the awards.
