Daria Pezzoli-Olgiati studied theology and religion at the universities of Fribourg (CH) and Zürich. She works as a professor for the study and the history of religion at the university of Munich (LMU). Her research focuses on the relation between religion and media, with particular interest for visual and audiovisual forms of communication. She is coeditor of the Journal for Religion, Film and Media (jrfm.eu) and the publication series Religion, Film und Medien (Schüren Verlag, Marburg). She was a member of ecumenical juries in Locarno and Karlovy Vary, of the interreligious jury in Nyon, and the INTERFILM Jury in Venice (2018).
