Dénes Nagy graduated at the Hungarian Film Academy in the class of János Szász in 2009. He has made several short films, both documentary and fiction. His short fiction Soft Rain has been presented first at the 45th Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes 2013, and was awarded by the Hungarian Film Critics Association as “Best Hungarian Short Film of 2013”. His documentary Another Hungary had its premiere at the 43rd International Film Festival Rotterdam and was awarded "The Best Hungarian Documentary Film of 2013". His latest documentary Harm funded by HBO Europe premiered at the Documentary Competition of the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival in 2015.

"Defiant" by director Visa Koiso-Kanttila wins the Prize of the Church Media Foundation in Finland at the International Chidren's and Youth Festival in Oulu 2025.
The Hof Film Festival is now in its 58th year and has become a hallmark of the city, which is why Hof likes to call itself the “Home of Films,” a phrase that is said to have originated with Wim Wenders. In the late 1960s and 1970s, the Munich film scene came to Hof (...). As a nostalgic reminder, this year there was a 35mm screening of Fassbinder's early work “Gods of the Plague”. Peter Paul Huth reports about the festival.
