I was born 1965 in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, and studied Protestant Theology in Hermannsburg, Seoul, and Greifswald. After serving as a parish pastor in Lassen (Pomerania) and Lauenburg on the River Elbe, I have been Provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church District of Lübeck-Lauenburg since 2022. Alongside my ministry, my greatest passion has always been film and theatre. For many years I have directed amateur theatre productions and performed as an actor. I also founded the Elbkino cinema initiative in Lauenburg and led an amateur film group in my parish. Film and cinema have fascinated me since childhood as places where stories bring people together and open new perspectives.
