At the 57th film festival Visions du Réel in Nyon (April17-26, 2026) the Interreligious Jury, appointed by Interfilm Switzerland and SIGNIS, has awarded its Prize to the documentary "Dentro" by Elsa Amiel. The Prize is endowed with CHF 5.000, donated by Catholic Church in Switzerland and Médias-pro, the media department of the CER (Conference of Reformed Churches in French-Speaking Switzerland).
The jury watched the films of the International Feature Film Competition. Their motivation reads: "In an era marked by the temptation to curtail freedoms and enact harsher laws, the interreligious jury sought to honour a work of constructive resistance. We see how, through theatre, inmates can 'punch holes in reality.' Classic and modern texts of great beauty lend the dialogues a unique quality. Here lies a meditation on the actor’s craft and the liberating power of creation, of intense depth. The prisoners involved in preparing a performance are led to find meaning. To explore another dimension of their personalities. To feel alive and responsible, rather than brooding and vegetating. Practicing inclusion in a place of confinement strikes us as an inspiring endeavour. Our jury appreciated the energy that emanates from this film, the delicate and subtle way in which the director presents the protagonists, particularly the theatre director Armando Punzo."
Members of the jury were Emmanuel Deonna, journalist and film critic; Christian Georges, journalist and film critic; David Rossé, protestant pastor (President of the Jury); and Bahareh Zareeipolgardani, environmental scientist and researcher.
