Martina Schmidt (*1963 in Germany) studied theology in Göttingen, Lausanne, Marbourg and Sao Leopoldo (Brazil) and is living since 1995 in Switzerland. Her doctorate at the University of Lausanne was on the relevance of Latin American liberation theology for a European context, and since then she’s been interested in cultural diversity and the ethical dimensions of intercultural dialogue. For ten years, she was at the head of ‘Bread for All’ (Pain pour le prochain, PPP) for French-speaking Switzerland, the Protestant churches’ development organization. As such, she represented ‘Bread for All’ on the Committee of the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) for seven years. In 2009, she was a member of the Ecumenical Jury at FIFF. She is member of INTERFILM and its Swiss section. Since February 2016, she has been minister of the EERV reformed parish of Montreux.
