Cudze rzeczy

Kasia makes a living clearing out other people's flats. Together with her boyfriend, she works her way through the tower blocks, pocketing a piece of jewellery here, an old portable radio there. When her partner is arrested for shoplifting, she moves into the flat of a man she found hanged the day before: Piotr. At first it is only about money, insurance and inheritance. But the deeper Kasia delves into Piotr's life, the more she wants to know who this dead man was. Between abandoned ruins and terraced houses, lost souls and the go-getters of a new Poland, Kasia finds something she herself is missing: family. Specifically, that of a stranger who only becomes close to her after his death. (Festival information, Cottbus 2026)
