From a position of balance between the forces and interests of history, the film speaks out in favour of the cause of peace. In doing so, it succeeds in highlighting, amidst the machinery of political events, that very centre of the movements where passively endured fate and active political action converge to form real history. It describes this process from a position of solidarity yet at a distance from its own people’s role in history, which lends its call for a political rethink extraordinary persuasive power.
