From 1998 to 2007, INTERFILM awarded the European John Templeton Film Award on behalf of the Templeton Foundation. The awarded film was chosen from European films of the previous year that had been honoured by a church film organisation.
Festivals are the central concern of INTERFILM. For a faith-based organisation, such a commitment is anything but self-evident. This dossier is meant to reflect the experiences of participating in and contributing to church film juries, the status of festivals in today's film culture, and the particular possibilities festivals offer.
