A young girl has to do her homework. She is supposed to write about the terrible bombing of Tokyo on 10 August 1945: 100,000 words.

With honesty, transparency and hope, the film calls on today's generation to confront national and international injustices of the past and present.

The Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the 15th World Film Festival Montreal in 1991 went to ‘Sensu no seishun’ (War and Youth) by Tadashi Imai. The Grand Prix des Amériques was awarded to ‘Salmonberries’ by Percy Adlon.
