Linda is headstrong. Once, in the school playground, she cut her cheek with a razor blade. Willi says she’s not quite normal, but Paul knows she’s just different – and that’s what makes her so desirable. They spend twelve years together and have three children. The wedding takes place during the lunch break. The honeymoon lasts two hours. Linda’s dreams – of breaking free from the confines of the family flat, of becoming a lorry driver, of seeing the vastness of the sea – none of it comes to anything. Her love for Paul is strong, but it leads her only to a similar flat in a high-rise block.
