West Berlin, spring 1991: Theo and Marie are neighbours in the same corridor of an old Berlin tenement block. Their relationship is warm but distant. Theo works as a male escort. His clients are mainly businesspeople from out of town who book his services by telephone. Marie works in a record shop and earns money for herself and her boyfriend Paul, who spends his time writing. When he moves out following an argument, Theo and Marie’s love story begins.
