‘Pensão Globo’ (West Germany 1997) by Matthias Müller and ‘Letters From Home’ (Canada 1996) by Mike Hoolboom were jointly awarded the INTERFILM Jury Prize, whilst ‘L'Ours et la petite mariée’ (The Bear and the Little Bride, France 1996) by Jean-Claude Taki received a commendation. The festival’s international jury awarded its Grand Prix to “Crystal Aquarium” (UK 1996) and three main prizes to “Chronic” by Jennifer Todd Reeves (USA 1996), which also won the International Film Critics’ Prize, as well as to “Robert. A Fortunate Life‘ (Robert. Ščastlivaja žizn', Russia 1997) by Aleksandr Sokurov and to the first episode of the miniseries ’Crucial Tales" by Ngozi Onwurah (UK 1996).
