The Place of Religion in Film
3rd International Conference on Religion & Film
From March 30 to April 1, 2017, the 3rd International Conference on Religious Films will be held at Syracuse University, New York. It is dedicated to "The Place of Religion in Film". The organizers intend to discuss both the spatial and the social place of religions and religious communities in films, but also the place which films assign to religious phenomena in the imaginary order they produce. Also the physical embodiment of religion in architectures or rituals will be an issue. The two previous conferences took place at the University of Omaha (Nebraska) in 2014 and Istanbul in 2015.
