Shoemaker

In a forgotten neighbourhood of the city two reclusive shoe-makers run Mr. Happy Shoe Repair. Fragile and deliberate, Carey polishes shoes while the overprotective Paul looks after the books. Their insular world begins to unravel when Carey meets Anna who awkwardly offers her friendship. Smitten, but too shy to respond, Carey tries to find her again by placing a personal ad in the newspaper. Worried about his Carey's mental limitations and lack of experience, Paul cautions him not to have romantic expectations. But Paul's words evaporate when Anna shows up at the shop and Carey's all-or-nothing heart begins a tremulous journey.
