Documentary "Do No Harm" wins church film prize at the Tampere Film Festival
Film directors Satu Majava and Joel Tainio have won the Church Media Foundation Award with their film «Do No Harm». The documentary was awarded in the domestic competition of the Tampere Film Festival 2024.

The Frankfurt based Evangelical Film Jury has honoured "Toni Erdmann", directed by Maren Ade, as FILM OF THE YEAR 2016. The award ceremony took place in the German Film Museum in Frankfurt on December 10, 2016.

On November 28, 2016, Hans Werner Dannowski, city superintendent em. of Hannover, died at the age of 83 years. He was film commissioner of the council of the EKD 1985-1992, president of INTERFILM 1988-2004 and since 2004 honorary president of INTERFILM. Today's president of INTERFILM, Julia Helmke, portrays the deceased.

"Words With Gods" is an omnibus film by nine artists initiated by the Mexican film director Guillermo Arriago to inspire interreligious dialogue. It was screened and discussed at the INTERFILM Conference entitled "Making Visible the Invisible Through Film" at Uppsala (Sweden), 9-12 June, 2016. Karsten Visarius, film critic and executive director of INTERFILM, introduced the film.
